New Little Free Library in Our Neighborhood
“Penny Lane”, Layhill South’s first Little Free Library will be open for service on May 18th.
What is a Little Free Library?
A Little Free Library is a “take a book, return a book” free book exchange. For more information about Little Free Libraries, visit the LFL website.
Where is the Layhill South Little Free Library located?
Our first Layhill South Little Free Library is located near the intersection of Camellia Drive and Bluet Lane. See location in Google Maps.
Why is it called “The Penny Lane Little Free Library?”
The Little Free Library is a gift from our former neighbor, Morrie Kraemer, to honor his wife who passed away in 2018. Penny Peterson was a galvanizing force within our neighborhood, a respected Montgomery County school psychologist, and one of the original organizers of our neighborhood book club. Since Penny and Morrie were long-time Layhill South residents, he wanted to honor Penny in a unique way that would benefit the neighborhood they both loved and make it an even better place to live.
The dedication and opening of the Little Free Library will be at 2 pm on Saturday May 18th as part of the Layhill South Community Day.
